About the author
Since July 2004 I have taken fifteen on line courses at LVS for the purpose of creating and maintaining web sites. I focused on such topics as Web Development, Web Site Editors, and the graphics program, Paint Shop Pro. From 2001 to 2004 I enrolled in basic html courses at another on-line resource, Virtual University. I found LVS offering a wider variety and more advanced classes that can keep me striving with the learning curve in a number of related topics.
Having an interest in web sites lead into my interest in blogging, which influenced me to enroll for LVS course on “Blogging for Fun, Fame, and Fortune.” Before enrolling for this course, I started a Google blog for uploading images of 2006 Lewis and Clark trip. Then, it dawned on me that by taking “Blogging for Fun, Fame and Fortune,” I would be prepared to have an insight as to how to create and maintain a WordPress Blog. Our neighborhood association VP provided a host for the neighborhood WordPress blog and turned it over to me for maintenance. Now our neighborhood is focusing on Google Group to enhance communication between neighbors and I am co-owner of that group.
In preparing for uploading web sites, I subscribed to GoDaddy.com host and selected “goldinrule.com” since “goldenrule.com” was taken. After a learning curve lasting about a week, I now feel comfortable in using the host’s features to build a “WordPress” blog, WorPress start up on host site was a built in features offered by GoDaddy.com.
As we have boxes of travel mementos and pictures in storage, a blog on travel experiences seemed like a relevant topic for my initial blog to use a travel log for the blog class. Maybe the word “Discover” has other generic meanings that will provide a latitude to expand the blog to other areas of “Discovery.” It’s new to me is a discovery, right?
